Mazda Furai Concept - (Italian)



This concept recovers the chassis of the Courage C65 with which Mazda covered the series ALMS only two seasons ago, and the rotary engine of three rotors and 450 CV that distinguishes it from any other present vehicle on the tracks.



The Furai recaptures the language of design of the Nagare (a Japanese word that means " fluency ") and furthermore, it incorporates a concept based on the models of competition from the American Le Mans Series (ALMS).



Mazda Furai is staring at the future and at the environment, which in this case materializes in the use of ethanol (E100), produced by BP







In words of Franz von Holzhausen, the Director of Design of Mazda North America, " Mazda Furai blurs deliberately form the line that traditionally has separated the vehicles of street from the race track vehicles. Historically, a breach has always existed between the models of competition and the vehicles of series with high services - the so-called supercars-, which emulate in the real world the competition models. The Furai reduces this breach as no other vehicle has done it before. "

Michael Schumacher Vs "Mortal" guy

Hello folks, these are two videos showing a race between a journalist and Michael Schumacher, which is meant to be a proof that Ferrari's F430 Scuderia are enjoyable to almost everyone, and that you don't need to be Raikkonen, Schumacher or Massa in order to "exploit" all it's capacities as a super car...



There's an interview with M. Schumacher on part 1, it is originally made in English, but with an italian traduction, i'll try to give you the best translation of it ...

So, Michael, what's your role on the Ferrari F430 Scuderia's development?

M. Schumacher:
It was a project, where i was involved at very early stage, and this was just after i was leaving the F1, it is a street car of course, but it's meant to have an "extreme" sportive approach on Race tracks.
We've tested this car in Fiorano, but not only at Fiorano, but Nürburgring, and Ballocco... Which was great.

In the end the Quattroruote magazine journalist, had an overall score of 1:31 mins. @ Fiorano, against the 1:28 mins. of M. Schumacher, proving that the F430 Scuderia it's enjoyable to almost everyone, even if you're not a seven times F1 world champion ;)

Lancia Delta

These are some vids about the brand new version, of the legendary Lancia Delta, i think it's a quite beautiful car, but it has changed direction, i don't know if this type of car can be a rally legend like it's predecessor... Judge for yourselves.

The Lancia Delta is a small family car produced by Italian automaker Lancia with the first generation being produced between 1979 and 1994, the second generation running from 1993 until 1999, and the third generation Delta entering production in 2008. It was first shown in Frankfurt Motor Show in 1979.[1] The Delta is best known for its World Rally Championship career in the late 80s and early 90s, when it dominated rallying. Lancia offered road-going versions of these competition cars - the Lancia Delta HF4WD and Integrale.

My special car 2008 - Rimini Italy

Hi to all, this is the first post on this blog, it will be dedicated to all sorts of sport and super cars, offering videos and articles of the latest car shows and models shown on them.

On this post we will see three videos, in italian, about the "My special car" show in Rimini, Italy.



On these videos you can see some of the coolest cars on the stands there, and some new revolutionary prototype, however these videos are mostly copyright of the italian magazine "Quattroruote" http://www.quattroruote.it/, one of the most respected magazines in Italy.


In this first video you can see a Lotus Exige, A Ruf based on the cool Porsche Boxter, a Pagani Zonda Roadster, and a Faralli & Mazzanti "Antas", a Tuscan car builder that uses old Maserati bodies, to make an old style super car, quite interesting.

My Special Car Show: a constantly growing success. From 28 to 30 March 2008, Sixth Edition of the Exhibition Dedicated to Special Cars.
Impressive figures testify to the extraordinary success of the fifth edition of My Special Car Show, the Special and Sports Car Exhibition which took place at the Rimini Exhibition Centre from 13 to 15 April, and prove that the passion for car customisation is growing both within the industry and trade and among the public at large. The 2007 edition of the show drew 95,365 visitors, 6,726 trade professionals, 293 members of the media and 291 exhibitors (of which 117 foreigners from 20 countries) and featured 221 award events plus 14 press conferences and meetings.
The show’s layout was designed on a surface area of over 91,500 square metres, with the exhibition area being divided up among major Italian and European Tuning and Car Entertainment companies, fan rallies and dynamic activities presented in the two outdoor areas. The 2007 My Special Car Show saw an increase in the number of Car Manufacturers taking part - twelve altogether: BMW with Mini, Citroen, Daihatsu, DaimlerChrysler with Mercedes-AMG and Smart BRABUS, Fiat, General Motors with Opel, Kia, Peugeot, Seat, Subaru, Volkswagen and Volvo. The carmakers present were also joined by Ferrari Gallery. This year’s show set aside 10,000 square metres of outdoor space to stage the activities organised by Subaru and Castrol; among the events, My Special Car Show 2007 featured the presentation of the AUTO EUROPA TUNER prize, awarded by UIGA (Italian Motoring Journalists’ Union) to Subaru for its Impreza STI.
Special attention was dedicated to the conference programme: Centro Studi Promotor organised, as usual, the inaugural conference, which addressed the issue of the new draft law on type approval, currently being discussed by the Italian Parliament. Editoriale Domus, publisher of the magazines Car Emotion and Quattruote, in collaboration with Promotor International, organised a debate on the relationship between design and customisation. As regards Car Entertainment, the monthly magazine ACS – Audio Car Stereo promoted a roundtable which examined the future and prospects of sound quality and SPL (Sound Pressure Level) competitions in Italy.
With respect to the My Special Car Show visitor profile, according to a survey conducted by Ares Automotive Research among those attending the exhibition – of whom around 80% came from other regions and whose average age was about 24 - repeaters accounted for about 45% of the total and spent on average nearly 6 hours visiting the Exhibition. Over 80% of the visitors who have attended more than one edition of My Special Car Show affirmed that the event gets better every year. The overall rating of the exhibition was also very positive: of those interviewed 98% declared that they were satisfied and 92% said that they would visit it again. In addition, around half of those interviewed possess a custom car: in 39.1% of the cases, the personalisation falls within the sphere of car tuning and in 38.8% of the cases regards the car entertainment sector. The average yearly amount spent by enthusiasts to customise their car has reached nearly 2,000 EUR. Finally, with respect to the legislative bill on car tuning, over 65% of those interviewed concurred that the present legislation is overly restrictive and that a streamlining of current procedures could boost the sector’s development.
This year’s edition once again confirmed the status of My Special Car Show as the only event in Italy that can boast the participation of all major publishing groups and specialised trade media, as well as the presence of national TV networks and radio broadcasters. The media exposure continued to highlight the extraordinary interest generated by the exhibition, which was dedicated some 467 articles in daily newspapers and periodicals, 5,743 minutes of TV broadcasts and 1,257 minutes of radio coverage. The Exhibition’s advertising campaign – with a total value of 2.3 million Euros – involved the daily and periodical press, posters, TV, radio and the Internet.
The fourth edition of My Special Club , the gathering dedicated by My Special Car Show to tuning fan clubs – and this year organised in partnership with AsConAuto (Associazione Nazionale Consorzi - Car Dealers) Beta, MAK, Radio Stella, SecurPneus and Yokohama – again revealed a robust growth trend. This year's data - 1235 vehicles on display, 143 clubs participating, 35,840 square metres of occupied surface area and 55 award events - compared to the figures for last year's edition provide evidence of the event’s ongoing expansion:the number of vehicles showcased rose by 22%, the number of clubs by 21%, the occupied surface area by 12% and the award events by 30%.According to a survey conducted among those who signed up for My Special Club 2007, participants have an average age of 26, 56% of them are from northern Italy and 44% from the rest of the country, they are avid Internet users – about 70% of them surf the web very frequently – and they habitually use the vehicle they brought to the rally. Moreover, 67% of those interviewed regularly take part in gatherings and 22% visited the 2006 edition of the Bologna Motor Show. A final point of interest: in order to get to My Special Club, fans from all over Italy, from Austria, from Belgium and from Switzerland – travelled a total of about 339,230 kilometres.The gathering’s qualitative development equalled its growth in quantitative terms, as reflected by the level of excellence of the vehicles displayed, an increasingly dynamic programme of events and the involvement of important partners. In just four editions My Special Club has not only become a landmark event in Italy but, even more importantly, it has also consolidated its status as Europe’s largest indoor gathering. The reasons for this extremely rapid achievement can be found in the event’s particular formula: My Special Club is a club-centred gathering that offers participants the opportunity to display their vehicles and share experiences, creativity and emotions. To enable tuning fans to keep in touch all year round, My Special Club is also inaugurating a new web venue: www.myspecialclub.it, the «virtual» gathering of all car customisation enthusiasts.
